Brain Explosion

HoLa!

Yesterday, after swimming and going on a long walk, Elizabeth and I headed to Tim's house to watch a movie with some friends. It was lovely! We always have a good time together. We got home late- around 11:00 ish. Since both of us had to get up early, we went straight to sleep!

Today, I'm off to JC training at Brookhill! I'm pretty excited about it. I'm pretty excited about being a counselor in general! Oh man. It will be so great. So great.

I need to clean my room a bit. I don't have time at the moment...I'll do it when I get home. I feel scatterbrained and random at this moment. I hope they give us lunch at training today.... I'm gonna bring my book in the car to read. Hmmph. I fail to think in a logical manner... oh well. Like I've said before, my brain is similar to a bag of jellybeans. :)

I should probably be heading out soon...yeah. It starts in an hour and 13 minutes. I'm in Little Rock, and training is in Hot Springs. Seems logical to leave soonish. I'm excited!

Yet Another Summer Post...

Hey! So. Basically, yesterday was a fabulous day. I slept in (well...until 8:30), which was nice. Dad was out working, and Carson was at preschool, so it was just me, Mom, and Crib for the day. We spent the day out and about shopping around! It was really great. I got a really cute dress and some red Chacos that I've really been wanting. I was quite thrilled, I tell you! Around 3:30, after picking Carson up, we headed home and I went upstairs to read/sleep. I have no idea why, but I've been so sleepy lately. It doesn't make any sense at all to me. And it's actually quite annoying. Anyways. When I woke up, the whole family headed out for a delicious dinner at Yaya's! I got the grilled salmon salad.

So great. So great.

So yes, that was my day yesterday. It was relaxed, chilled, and pleasant. It felt very...summery. Ahhh, I just love that word. Summer. What wonderful thoughts and memories come to mind when it's spoken....

Summer Goals...
1. Read 5 great novels
2. Learn to play a song, well, on the guitar.
3. Memorize at least 5 Bible verses.
4. Be open to whatever God wants to do with me.
5. Go to the athletic club all the time.
6. Quality time with my family.
7. Quality time with my friends.
8. Be thankful.
9. Keep my room clean.

There we go. :)

A Day In The Life...

Today is the study day with Elizabeth. We've been planning it ever since we had it together last year. Last year, we spent all day at the library, studying for finals like crazy people. This year, we'll spend all day at the library, with me helping HER study for finals like a crazy person. Hahaha. Sometimes I love being home-schooled.

In between study time today, I'm going walking on a trail close to co-op with the foursome. Gracie, Scott, and Tim, that is. It shall be great!!

I do believe today will be a great day. OH! And to finish it all off, Elizabeth and I are going to Mt. Fuji, also known as the best sushi place around. So. Delicious. It will be a wonderful end to an intense study day. Hahaha.

Joshua 1:9- "Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go." Good verse. It sounds really simple, but somehow we manage to forget this all the time. We let ourselves get so wrapped up in the moment, stressing and worrying, that we forget to just hand it to God. The verse doesn't say God was with us in the past, or even that God is with us right now. It says He WILL BE with us as well. Why worry about the future? Live every moment for Christ, and His plan will unfold.

Long Post Alert! :)

Greetings! You know what? I have a good life. And a good family. And good friends. And I've had a good day. You know why? I'm assuming you don't. I shall tell you. What are blogs for?

Today started off with the Athletic Club. My dad and I usually go early in the morning, and this one was no exception. We lifted weights to our heart's desire, and then some. We were home by 7:40, and by 8:00, I was up in my room, doing schoolwork like a mad person. And let me tell you, I was highly productive. I basically ate math and biology for breakfast. Well, that and some Wheaties. I finished school by about 12:30, which was nice. No interruptions.

When I was done, I headed downstairs, made myself some lunch, and went out by the pool to eat and read. It was absolutely wonderful. It would have been perfect if it weren't for getting a bit sweaty. (Don't get me wrong, summer weather is where it's at!) It was at that moment that I realized how abundantly grateful I am that we have a cold, wet, blue pool in our back yard. Yes, I was wearing shorts and a tank top. But I jumped in, right then and right there. Words cannot express the beautiful feelings of joy that...overwhelmed my soul at that moment. Yes. For the next hour or so, I was in and out of the pool. Read, swim, read, swim.

Before long, Mom, Christian, Carson, and I were headed to the Athletic Club (summer days regularly consist of two AC trips in a day for me.). Carson had a swim lesson. I watched him swim...he's getting so big and strong. He can swim quite a ways now, without floaties or anything. After the lesson, Mom and the boys went home, but I stayed and ran a bit. I like running. Have I mentioned that? There's nothing like it.

That lovely friend of mine called Carolyn picked me up around 4:30. We drove home, I grabbed some stuff, and then headed to her house. I like her house. We have good times together there. Well, we have good times wherever. We hung out at the house for a little bit, and then Scott, Charles, Carolyn, and I headed to eat dinner at a mexican restaurant. I got tortillas with rice and beans, like always (details, much?). After that, we went back home and hung out for a while. Good stuff, man. Then, the four of us headed to Academy Sports. The guys wanted to buy some Tshirts, I do believe. Carolyn and I laughed because we found ourselves sitting while the guys were shopping. Ironic? Yes.

And now we are home. Carolyn and I are hanging out in her room, being relaxed. And happy. We just finished coloring in a giant coloring book. And guess what? Carolyn let me pick the picture. Out of all the Disney princesses...I had no choice but to choose Belle. Beauty and the Beast simply cannot be beat. The picture turned out very beautiful. We had fun. We HAVE fun.

And now I'm terribly thirsty. And Carolyn wants tea. So, we shall head upstairs. Farewell, blog world.

GUESS WHAT?

I deactivated my facebook. Yup. Surprised? Me, too. I'm surprised, but happy about it, without a doubt. Last night, at the Barnett's house, my friends and I got to talking about how silly facebook really is. It just sucks your time away. And the people that I talk to on there, I see all the time anyways. Maybe when I need to reconnect with my old college friends or something, I'll consider reactivating. But for now, I'm satisfied.

I'm a new woman!

Quick Scribble

I am short on time. Like, I'm leaving in about 5 minutes. But here's my day for you! Today, I woke up in a very happy mood. Elizabeth spent the night, and we woke up slowly. It was very relaxing. I had to study for biology and take the test which was no fun. While I was doing that, Elizabeth and my mom cleaned the house. Lemme tell you. My mom LOVES Elizabeth for many reasons, and a major reason being that she's super organized. Eli left around 12:30.

After that girl we like to call Eli left, I went out by the pool and read for a while. It was wonderful. I enjoy myself thoroughly when I get the chance to do that. :) After that, I went upstairs, took a shower and got ready. I hung out with Mom for a while, then went out to see Dad, Christian, and Carson while they were swimming. I love those people.

Gracie's currently on her way to pick me up. Tonight we are heading to la casa de Tim for his dad's birthday party! It should be lovely. Afterwards, I'm going to spend the night with Gracie. I love that girl.

Ok. Toodles for now! Life is good.

Thankful for everything...

So. Last night after tutoring, I was feeling pretty crummy. So crummy that as soon as I got home, I went to my room and went to sleep. I was entirely prepared to be sick all day today...I woke up this morning feeling the same way (nauseous, mainly.), and laid around until about noon. I finally concluded that I would go to guitar lessons, sick or not sick, and lemme tell you. I felt sick leading up to it. But. Once I got to guitar, the uphill journey began. Now, I'm almost back to normal, which I'm so very happy about. I didn't want to have to miss my friend Taylor's birthday party tonight. I love that girl. It starts in about an hour and a half. After that, I basically have no plans.

Guitar was great today... I really love it, even though I'm still no good at it. I'm catching on, slowly but surely. I can't wait until I can put music to songs that I've written. That will be fabulous. Some songs I'd like to someday play to are...

Blowin' In the Wind- Bob Dylan
Like A Star- Corinne Bailey Rae
Warwick Avenue- Duffy
NYC Weather Report- Five For Fighting
The Way I Am- Ingrid Michaelson
Stop This Train (Acoustic)- John Mayer
Shut Your Eyes- Snow Patrol
Nightingale- Norah Jones

Someday, I shall play them all, I tell you. I shall, just you watch! Haha. I plan on playing Stop This Train right before I'm off to college. Look up the lyrics and you'll understand. (: Great song.

happily daydreaming,
